If I sign up for the U.S. army now that I am 17 and going to be a junior in high school....?

I would like to sign up in say May or June on 2011. I want to be active duty, so when I sign up for the DEP with my mom's permission, and after I graduate will I be active duty? I don't want to sign on to the reserves or guard. Thanks guys!
