Does the DNA replicate before cell division or after cell division?

before. human cells have double-stranded dna most of the time, it unlocks to replicate before/during mitosis (cell division). dna unzips, shuffles, and replicates in meiosis, but each cell generated only gets half of the set of chromosomes.
